WHO says that physical activity is a vital matter for good health. This is because it can reduce the risk of and treat infections and diseases. Health Promotion India estimates that about 41 million children under 2 years of age lack either a physical activity routine or parental social support. This leaves India’s children at a greater risk of developing health problems such as obesity, heart problems, development problems, asthma, anxiety and depression.


There are several important measures through which you can make a positive contribution to the well-being of children:-

· Start off with a simple activity that you may not have done before. Slowly build up the number of activities and reach the highest level of activity you are comfortable with.

· Teach your children to follow a routine by setting time for themselves and children in their care.

· Work at expanding the mind of your child’s healthy choices by providing opportunities for nutritious, healthy, active play.

· Ease into nutritious choices on whole grains, fruits, vegetables, and lean proteins.

· Take proper care of themselves and make sure you stay informed about medical conditions.

· Your children will benefit from regular check-ups. Make sure you get regular results from your pediatrician to help guide your choices.

· Start a healthy eating program that would make sure all the required vitamins and minerals are supplied at the right levels.

· Invest in tools, such as Children’s Books, games, videos, learn how to read/ speak fluently and improve print skills. Your child will also be helped by reading more than a book, as it is useful to develop his reading ability.
